Nice recreation

This does the original justice I think. I think the guitars give it an X-series feel as well. Nice job!

Not bad.

A nice rendition. However, the melody seems a little mellowed out. I'd bring the volume up just a little bit. Not too much, though.

Nice job at recreating this theme from Mega Man X5.

That's what I intended, but thanks!

Great!

Finally, a mix that relies almost entirely on authentic 8-bit sounds and expands them to the next level. Great work!

Bunnymajs responds:

Thanks allot man!<3
thats excactly what im Going for :D

You attempted...

And you definitely succeded at making an awesome cover of this masterpiece.

Brings back good memories.

This orchestration is absolutely beautiful. At first I thought it was going to be simply the basic chimes, flute, and choir sounds. But I was first stunned by the drums, then I was completely blown away at 0:45 seconds with the full orchestration.

Although it has a more grand vibe, it still maintains the soothing, mysterious atmosphere that the original conveyed.

Thank you very much ^_^!

It's good, but. . .

I like this tune. It's just that the echo is a little too emphasized, and there are too many sounds for it to sound "authentically" 8-bit. There's generally a 4 channel rule to 8-bit music. 2 square channels, 1 triangle, and 1 noise channel.

If you want to try authentic sounding 8-bit pieces, then I suggest a program called FamiTracker, which gives you these channels to compose with.

HOWEVER, if you don't care about that, then keep up what you're doing. The tune itself is actually really good. It's just that it may be just a tad bit over echoed.

But that's my own personal opinion. Take it with a grain of salt. Do what you want to do.

EliteFerrex responds:

Yeah, I've heard before that my 8-bits have too many channels to be "authentic," and although it does get slightly under my skin, I've also created some songs that don't follow the chiptune rule with which I'm very satisfied. Anyway, I appreciate the feedback, and I'm glad you liked it.

Catchy!

I never had the chance to play the Game Boy Mega Man games, so I'm not familiar with the music. But hey, it's got a nice feel. I can definitely see why you like the game. They way you make it sound, it almost feels like it's from a Mega Man X title, which is an interesting and fun comparison.

Although simple, it maintains the energy that is Rockman/Mega Man.

Great remastering!

Kloudtana responds:

Wow, thanks a lot. while i was not attempting to get the "Mega Man X" feel, I see how it does resemble it in a way.

Not to go on a tangent, but Mega Man X (the first one) was one of the games i played the most as a kid, and still stands out in my mind, both game-play-wise and musically. I may attempt to do some X remixes soon as well.

Oh yeah, thanks for the review.

Not much to say...

Seems like a nice a nice experiment with the drums...

But it could have had more cowbell, and this is NOT a joke. After hearing that little bit in there I feel like you should push a little more in future pieces. Sometimes the beats seemed off. But hey, it's a test, right? I liked the strings, though.

40Days responds:

Thanks. There are a few places that my drums are WAY off. When I converted the file from a MIDI, it erased my bass and snare so I had to put those in manually. If you like the strings that would probably be because I am a string player. And my next piece with percussion I will make sure to find the cowbell.

I like it but...

I don't know... The saw synth moving from the left and right channels takes away from the melody. It confuses and hurts my ears a little. But that's because I have sensitive hearing, I guess.

I like the tune, though, and overall it's catchy! I especially like the second half. Overall it's good. It's just the channel shift, even though it produces the desired effect, may not have been such a wise idea.

But hey, that's only my opinion. And it's your piece. You do what you want.

fergyanimated responds:

Kl, cheers.
Personally i like the piece the way it is, so im keeping it =]

Mega Man 3 Music ROCKS!

Awesome rendition of Hard Man's theme! It could use some more instrument variety, but it's still good. You ended it nicely, too.

stroshi responds:

thanks for the review
